Sorico
Sorico, the last village on the north-west shore of Lake Como, together with Dongo and Gravedona, was part of the territory known as "Three Parish" (even if it wasn't the original site of one the major Parish as where the other two villages. The title of Parish was given to Sorico by the nearby Olonio only in 1444
The history of Sorico was closely linked to its central position between the Lariane regions, the Chiavennasco and Valtellina.
There were different monuments: the church of St. Giorgio within the walls of the castle where just a few ruins remain, the Pilgrim's Shelter in Calchera, the XII century church of St. Bartolomeo, the Monastry of the Humble with a church dedicated to St. Orsola, destroyed in the XVII century.
